Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra came together and founded the line Costello Tagliapietra. The two, who both learned tailoring from their grandmothers and had both coincidently worked for Norman Norell in the 1960s, launched their line in New York for the spring 2005 collections. The line is best known for its fluid Grecian-feel dresses, constructed jackets and coats, and draped fabric that.s finished with French seams and bound edges. In 1995 Costello and Tagliapietra won the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award and were included in an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.s Costume Institute.
