Trina Turk, a west coast native, first worked with Seattle-based sportswear manufacturer Britannia Jeans. She later moved to Los Angeles where she started a sea of thirty prints per season designing surf wear for Ocean Pacific. The inspiration of bright and casual dresses influenced Turk to form her fashion line in 1995. Soon after, Turk experienced wide-spread popularity with celebrities and high-end boutiques. Her designs, usually incorporating florencia dresses and tops with natural patterns, have been seen on actresses Eva Longoria and Natalie Portman, singer Gwen Stefani, and model Kate Moss. Turk's lady chic pieces are sold at limited Barney's New York, Fred Segal, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom stores. Selected Trina Turk attire is also available online at trinaturk.com.
