Jason Wu began sewing when he was 9 years old. He taught himself to create patterns, sketch designs, and create simple pieces. A few years later, he started to learn the art of sculpture in Tokyo. Both of these experiences inspired him to become a fashion designer. After studying at New York City.s Parsons School of Design, Wu accepted an internship at Narciso Rodriguez. He showed his collection in 2006 and was immediately embraced among the fashion elite. Wu.s pieces are sold at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
