Bottega Veneta

Since 1966, Bottega Veneta designs have been recognizable worldwide. Earning a reputation for supreme quality, its timeless style is exemplified in soft, sensuous, handcrafted handbags. Vittorio and Laura Moltedo started the family business and established its headquarters in Venice, Italy, where it flourished until the 1990’s when interest in the brand declined. The couple then hired German-born Thomas Maier in hopes of a comeback. Maier brought a more modern feel to the house’s classically chic appeal. It wasn’t until 2001 that Gucci bought Bottega Veneta and was able to bring back its leading position in the luxury leather goods market. Currently, there are Bottega Veneta boutiques in 24 countries all over Europe, the Middle East, East Asia, and the United States. Most famous for its Intrecciato line of hand-woven leather bags, belts and shoes, its approach to fashion is ultra sophisticated and inconspicuous, dispensing with logos and flash to appeal to a refined and self-confident customer.
