You know, the woman was not on the Red Carpet of an awards show. She was hanging at a rock concert. AND she wasn’t wearing sweats or a dress so short that we could discuss her underwear choice. However, that doesn’t stop the outfit bashers. US Magazine is actually holding a contest for readers where they submit a fashion police one liner for a photo of Patricia Arquette in her Western outfit. While she has certainly looked more fashionable, I don’t think this was an occasion that called for fashion.

What do you think? Should actors be allowed to have down time like the rest of the world or should they always dress like they’re heading out to the Emmy award show? When I think of the number of times I’ve looked down in the store and realized I ran out to get milk in my painting clothes…well, we can all be thankful that I am not a celebrity!

Just a reminder in case you haven’t already pre-ordered yours…the Medium season four DVD set will come out in less than two weeks on September 9th. The cheapest I’ve seen it so far is $41.99 on Amazon. There’s also a really nice four season set for $118.99 releasing the same day. If you didn’t buy the other seasons already, it doesn’t look like a bad deal.

According to WizBangBlue, Patricia Arquette donated $2300 to Obama’s campaign. Her sister Rosanna donated the same amount. They’re in great company - Jimmy Carter endorsed Obama and made a hefty donation of his own to the campaign. I guess this means former President Jimmy Carter and current Medium sensation Patricia Arquette have more in common than their humanitarian efforts through Habitat for Humanity, huh?

MWA, who has beendevoted to trying to get Beyond Rangoon released on DVD has somegreat news:

“For those of you who have been waiting years for this, Beyond Rangoon will finally be on DVD.region 2 that is, in Japan and Italy.

It will be in widescreen, 5.1 sound, and have the movie trailer and color insert for extras.

OK, the good news nowadays is that you can program your home DVD player to be region free, to break the codes to play only region 1 for US DVDs.

Google: the name of your DVD player (Philips, Sony, etc.), and use the model name and number (DVD 240054, for example, usually located on the front of the machine), and you will be taken to different web sites to get a code to crack your DVD players region code reader. My players at home now play all DVDs from around the world: any region (UK, Japan, and Italy are region 2; Australia is region 4, for example).

For those of you who aren’t aware of Beyond Rangoon, thisaward winningmovie is based on true events in Burma. Patricia Arquette plays a tourist, Laura, who ends up becoming involved ina struggle for freedom that is still going on today. It is also a terrific adventure story!

It looks like almost the whole Medium crowd has been busy with other projects this year! Miguel Sandoval spent the spring months acting in Spoken Word, a movie about a spoken word artist (I think the best definition I’ve seen for a spoken word artist is a verbal poet.) who goes back home and gets tangled up again in the stuff he had left behind. Miguel plays someone named Emilio. I don’t have any more details, yet, but it sounds like it will have some fantastic poetry and some great scenery. (It was filmed in New Mexico.)

I noticed that one of the writers was Joe Ray Sandoval, who is a famous poet and spoken word artist. I’m assuming he’s a relative of Miguel Sandoval’s, but can’t find any confirmation.
