As previously mentioned, Gilmore Girls News will be a part of a 24-hour blogging marathon in which I’ll be posting (with your help!) one post every hour all day. We’re doing this to have fun, but also to support The Actors Fund Charity.

The Great b5media Blog Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am (PST). From that point forward, I’ll be posting news that I’ve written, and am really encouraging you to submit your own posts to help this great cause. You can do this any time here, but this is a great opportunity to start participating in this fabulous community - your community.

Don’t forget - each post you submit here or to any participating blog will earn you an entry to win $30 (two prizes to be won!).

Some ideas for guest posts:

• How does fashion influence Gilmore Girls?
• Ode to a character (like the TJ post here)
• Any news relevant to Gilmore Girls that I haven’t yet posted
• A review of a movie that a cast member has been in
• An update on a cast member (like this)
• More about a pop culture reference in any episode of Gilmore Girls - the recaps may help
• Your opinion on anything - what changed in Season 7? Who was a better boyfriend for Rory? Why do Rory & Lorelai’s fights seem overly dramatic? Why did they make Lane pregnant?

You don’t have to do anything too formal - just express your opinion in some way, and I’ll put it up to discuss. You can put in some research, pose a question, state your own ideas as a way to trigger discussion.

I can add some photos, but if you have video clips you want to add, please send a link. Please always send the links where you found your info, if you are reporting news.

Very few of you may know that Scott Patterson, besides being a very talented actor, is also a painter. As Scott shared with the LA Times last October, his ideal weekend of relaxation would include boxing, making a big brunch, getting a shiatsu massage, hanging with friends, and a Sunday of relaxation to see some art at a museum and to create some own at home.

While Scott has not decided if he’ll be selling the painting he created above, he has put a lot of energy and thought into the creation of this piece. What do you think?

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 will now be coming out on August 6th. The original theatrical release date was August 8th, but it has now been pushed up two days!

In honor of it being Friday the 13th of June today, I thought it fitting to do an update of the new Friday the 13th movie, which stars Jared Padalecki alongside Amanda Righetti, Ryan Hansen and Ben Feldman.

Jared Padalecki stars as Clay, an investigator sent to Camp Crystal to investigate the killings there. The premise of the movie is that, after a boy dies at camp, his mother begins to kill camp employees. They, in turn, kill her. And, when her son returns (not dead), he continues her work.

The movie just finished filming this week, and will come out in February, 2009. According to the latest blog post, Jared Padalecki spent two days last week smashing his face through a pane of glass over and over for one scene - ouch!

b5media’s Entertainment channel has teamed up for a 24-hour blog-a-thon to support The Actor’s Fund.

The Great b5media Blog Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am (in each writer’s respective time zone), to celebrate the summer solstice, which hasn’t occurred on any date other than June 21st since 1975 - this year it lands on June 20th. Writers for many of our sites (including me!) will be posting fresh news at least once per hour for a full 24 hours.

How can you help?

You can support this great charity writing marathon in two ways: donate a post, or donate money.

1. Donate a Post - be a guest writer on any of the participating Entertainment sites. You can contribute an article to help meet the once-per-hour 24 article goal for the day.* A list of participating sites is below, as well as contact information.
2. Donate Money - you can help make a difference by supporting The Actor’s Fund. One-time donations in any amount are encouraged in any amount, but we’re also suggesting a pledge of $1 per post written on the Entertainment Channel or $10 to sponsor a participating blog. Information on how to donate will be provided closer to the Blog Off date.
