This season Karl Lagerfeld headed in a sporty direction, playing with distressed denim, ’80s multicolor knits, and star-spangled silks along the way. Unfortunately for Chanel acolytes, there are few of the house’s iconic quilted bags to choose from but plenty of ankle wallets. These baby bags resembled the house-arrest, alcohol-monitoring anklets many pop stars have been sporting lately, a tongue-in-chic reference the culture-vulture designer no doubt intended.
