(1 of 8) NYFW Fall 08: Michael KorsIt may surprise Project Runway fans to learn that Michael Kors has a conservative side. For fall, the witty, wisecracking designer gave his signature globe-trotting babe a rest and offered a variety of brainy ’60s styles including twinsets, floral day dresses, pencil skirts, and mink stoles. The vintage-feeling skirt suits and fur-accented looks channeled Hitchcock’s intellectual heroines, while more casual pieces spoke to those refined cosmopolitans who weekend in the country. And to close the show, instead of sending a parade of sultry red-carpet looks down the runway, Kors put his catwalkers into sophisticated Jackie O–worthy columns of jacquard and brocade. Look 1
